Learning Objectives:
- Participants will be able to identify the signs and symptoms of depression among older adults (including how depressive symptoms may differ from younger adults), use of appropriate screening tools for depression and suicidal ideation and recommended medical workup to rule out common differential diagnoses.
- Participants will be able to provide effective patient education and outline the initial treatment approach for depression in older patients.
